FOUNDATION PHASE
Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 learners has the following subject areas. It will be beneficial for you as a parent / guardian to familiarise yourself with the subjects and the abbreviation used for each specific subject.This is also how the subjects will appear on the school report.

There will be (1) formal Assessment Task that will need to be completed per term, per subject area.

This Assessment Task is continuously assessed and compiled by each component.

During each term there are several themes in each grade that are integrated in all the subject areas to broaden the learners' general knowledge.

It would be appreciated if you, as parents, would discuss these themes especially in connection with vocabulary.

Our school follows the CAPS curriculum, which ensures that learners in Grades 4 to 6 receive a well-rounded education across various subjects. The core subjects include Afrikaans, English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology, Social Sciences (History and Geography), Life Skills, and Creative Arts. Learners are assessed through a combination of written work, assignments, tests, and projects. We encourage parents to be part of their child’s learning journey and to discuss any questions or support needs with the teachers.

In Grade 7, the first year of the Senior Phase, learners follow the CAPS curriculum, which prepares them for high school. Core subjects include English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences (History and Geography), Technology, Economic and Management Sciences (EMS), Life Orientation, and Creative Arts. Assessment includes tests, exams, projects, and assignments that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This year lays the foundation for more advanced learning and supports learners in developing independent study methods. We value parents’ involvement in this important phase of their child’s academic journey.
